    Tiny Bakers

    To link our learning with something hands-on (and delicious!), the children also worked together to bake blueberry muffins. They enjoyed measuring, mixing, and, of course, tasting their creations.

    Life Cycle of Plants

    The Honeypot children have been busy learning about the life cycle of plants. They explored how seeds grow into plants and had a wonderful time planting their very own sunflower seeds. We’re excited to watch them grow over the coming weeks!

    To top it all off the start of the Summer Term, the children had great fun making their own pizzas. They loved choosing their toppings and practising their spreading and fine motor skills—plus, of course, enjoying the delicious results!

    Life-cycle - Frogs

    We have been observing a real-life science experience in our setting, as the children watched frogspawn gradually transform into tadpoles. This has led to lots of discussions and excitement as we follow their development each day.

    People that help us - Fire

    We were delighted to welcome a fire engine visit, which sparked lots of curiosity and enthusiasm. The children enjoyed meeting the firefighters, exploring the equipment, and learning about how they help keep us safe.

    We went leaf hunting around school and collected lots of leaves that we have been using for craft and other activities. The children also loved rolling in the leaves, down the hill; nearly the Honeypot building.

    Village Scarecrows

    This year, we took part with the Village Scarecrow event for the month of October. We made our scarecrow, which is still standing proudly outside the school. The children have enjoyed spotting the other scarecrows around the village and looking on the map at the different scarecrows.

    Celebrating Diwali

    Rangoli is a traditional Indian art form where intricate and kaleidoscopic patterns are created on the ground. At Honeypot, the children all enjoyed colouring their own Rangoli design in the garden.

    This Spring Term, we have been looking at 'People Who Help Us'. Having visits from the police, a firefighter and a doctor. We even got a close-up view of the Air Ambulance that landed in the playground!
