Year 3/4: Egyptian Portraits
The Year 3/4s are studying Ancient Egypt and in the first few art lessons, the children will be painting Egyptian portraits.
This week, we have been planning and practising. Drawing faces is difficult and drawing faces in profile is very challenging indeed. We began by looking at examples of Egyptian art and I suggested a number of approaches to drawing a face from the the side. The children showed great concentration:
They were very proud of their drawings.
There was some amazing artwork in all three classes. The Year 3/4s really rose to this difficult challenge and I could not be prouder of them:
The finished artwork can be seen in a later post.
